What Floats

What Floats

Some things don't need to be held tightly.

They just rest.

Soft white petals on quiet water.

Their reflections moving only when the air decides to.

Nothing pushing forward.

Nothing trying to become more certain or more solid.

There's a particular beauty in that.

The kind that doesn't try.

The kind that trusts the surface is enough right now.

We spend so much time trying to stay above the waterline — keeping everything gathered, upright, from drifting away.

But not everything asks to be carried that way.

Some things are meant to float.

To be held by what's already underneath.

To move only when the water itself moves.

Maybe this week doesn't need you fixed or fully formed.

Maybe it just asks for a little softness to stay.

A slower morning.

A conversation that doesn't have to resolve.

A moment of stillness that isn't empty.

The simple recognition that you don't have to grip every part of yourself so tightly just to begin.

The petals aren't measuring anything.

They simply rest.

And in resting, they become part of the water's quiet movement.

I hope this week offers you one moment like that.

Something small enough to notice without effort.

Something soft enough to remind you that not everything has to be carried alone.

There's room here for what floats.

There's room here for you.

Thank you for sharing this quiet moment.

Until next Monday,
— EVERVERA
